| DM | Through the night you
hear occasional shouting matches and one or two fights break out in the
streets near the inn.
You wake the following morning to find that it is another cold, bright day.
The snow from the night before has not settled deeply. Heading downstairs you
find Harry serving customers but not looking his usual cheery self. |
| Narond | [Approaches
Harry] Morning Harry, any chance of a bit of breakfast?
[Notices his non-cheeriness] Something wrong Harry? |
| Harry | Just a bit of a
rough night that's all. The city's on edge over this murder. It's quite a rare
crime here, well among the elite classes anyway. People are taking it badly
and joining one side or the other. Anyway, sit down and I'll get you some
breakfast. |
| Berillia | [Orders
something hot and filling, and listens to the conversations of the other
patrons to further gauge the mood] |
| Dreylin | [Orders
something hot and filling, something else hot and filling, and sits down and
tries to finish off the letter to his parents]
[Considers ordering something else hot and filling] |
| DM | You all have breakfast
in the inn. The mood still seems a bit shaky and this is not helped by the
overcast day outside. |
| Dreylin | Well I think
that the first thing we need to do is thoroughly explore the tunnels and see
what evidence we can find of recent use. Oh, and we should leave a message
that we'll be back here for lunch with Harry, in case Captain Harlon turns up
looking for us. |
| Narond | Yep, that was
what I was saying last night, the tunnel exploration should be the first task.
[Nods in agreement with Dreylin] |
| Leanna | [Turns her nose
up at the sewers, but acquiesces gracefully like the true lady she
is...] |
| Berillia | [Mops up
the remains of her breakfast] So, shall we be off? |
| DM | Collecting your
(wrapped) weapons you head out into town.
It is immediately obvious that the atmosphere is considerably more tense than
yesterday. People move around in small groups and look warily around them.
|
| Leanna | I vote we head
for the closest entrance to the area that we're investigating, on the grounds
that it will be more pleasant on the nose. |
| Dreylin | Probably if we
used the conveniences we'd attract the least attention... |
| Narond | Agreed, we
definitely don't want to go back to the Toney house, and most other locations
are a bit obvious. |
| Berillia | To the
Crystal Toilets, team! |
| DM | You head to the
(crystal) toilets and all six of you disappear into the same cubicle. This
perhaps raises one or two eyebrows but Darokin is a fairly cosmopolitan city.
After locking the door, Dreylin fiddles with the catch and opens the hidden
door.
Once again you find yourselves in the tunnels. This time however you are
armed with a better knowledge of how things relate to each other above ground.
|
| Leanna | After going to
look at House Hallonica, if that doesn't turn anything up of itself, shall we
carry on in the direction of Astinius' house? |
| Narond | Sounds like a
sensible idea. We do need to check the other side of the House Linton. Though
we are assuming we are expecting entrances, it could be other things of note
to whoever made the map... |
| DM | You head in the
direction you think the Hallonica entrance is in.
After a few tunnels you start working your way through unfamiliar ones. As
previously there are very few side passages.
Turning a corner, you find that the ground of the tunnel has been split by a
chasm. It is about 20 feet to the other side and you can hear water flowing
below. A rope and wood bridge has been erected across the gap. |
| Narond | [Tries to gauge
how safe the bridge looks to be] |
| Leanna | Shall we try the
lightest first? [Looks at herself and Berillia, and then grins at
Dreylin] |
| DM | Looking at the bridge
you judge it to be a bit rough in construction but probably sound... probably.
|
| Dreylin | [Looks around
at the others] You know this reminds me of one of my Dad's stories.
Apparently there was this time that he and Uncle Dreylin were exploring the
Mountains just to the East of the Shire - it was quite early in their
Wanderlust and they hadn't got too far - anyway they came across a rope
bridge, much like this one...
[Spotting several eyes rolling back in their sockets] OK, fine, I'll go
across, but you'll regret not hearing the whole story! |
| Leanna | Did your Uncle
Dreylin suggest that the first person across trailed a rope across with them
just in case the bridge failed? Because the thought occurs that that mightn't
be a bad idea. |
| Narond | Well it might be,
depends on whether you want to hear more about the story or not... [Winks
at Leanna] |
| Dreylin | [Dreylin's
face clouds over suddenly at the mention of his uncle] Well no, my Dad
never mentioned that when he was telling the story, but hand me the rope and
I'll take it across. |
| Leanna | [Smiles back,
and then looks in her pack for some rope to use on Dreylin] |
| DM | You tie a rope to
Dreylin and he heads across the bridge. It wobbles a lot but he makes it.
On the far side the tunnel continues into darkness. |
| Berillia | I'll have a
go next... |
| DM | Berillia trips lightly
across the bridge. All is well. |
| Narond | I'll give it a go
next. [Grabs the correct end of the rope and heads off] |
| DM | Narond makes the
crossing with no difficulty.
Leanna crosses with no difficulty.
Shianara bounds across in his elvish way.
Habib steps onto the bridge... There is an ominous creak but it seems to
hold. The massive Alaysian continues over and the creaking sound gets louder.
Eventually, he makes it. The bridge seems intact.
You follow the tunnels along. Several turns later you find yourself facing an
iron gate. Some of you recognise it. |
| Leanna | [Looks around
for signs of tracks and so forth outside the gate] |
| DM | There are a few tracks
on the other side but none really on this side. Perhaps the remains of some,
but they are very old. |
| Leanna | [Muses] So
this would appear to exonerate House Hallonica, at least on the front of using
this tunnel entrance to do anything nefarious.
Shall we continue to House Linton, or is there anything else we want to do
here? There's no point in us breaking into the cellar, for example, is there?
[Looks mournful] |
| Berillia | [Makes
notes on the way we've come] Not for the moment. House Linton it is.
|
| Narond | Seems sensible,
we should keep our eyes open should there be somewhere else someone might get
in that we were not able to find on the inside. |
| DM | You head back through
the tunnels and find yourselves back at the bridge. Although the bridge drops
alarmingly under Habib you do all make it across.
Turning right you head down what seems to be the correct tunnel. After a
while you come to a corner and see a light up ahead. |
| Leanna | [Lowers her
voice] Let's dim our own lights to a minimum. Would you like me to scout
ahead first? |
| Berillia | Good plan.
I really hope this isn't some 'workmen' doing 'repairs'. |
| Narond | [Lowers his
voice] Well worth someone quiet scouting ahead. Which rules me out...
|
| Leanna | [Leaves her
lantern with the party and looks around the corner] |
| Dreylin | [Looks
vaguely distracted and subdued] |
| DM | Leanna creeps round the
corner. |
| Leanna | [Creeps back
round the corner and smiles at Berillia] Know what you were saying about
the 'workmen'? Well they're 'working' around the corner - same guys. Shall we
'give them a hand' with some pointy objects?
[Starts unwrapping her sword] |
| Berillia | Are they the
same lot, could you tell? [Makes sure her sling's to hand] |
| Leanna | Yes, the same
four as before. There's an unfinished section of tunnel, which they are
working on. |
| Dreylin | [Looks
slightly confused] So do we actually know that they're doing something
wrong? |
| Narond | [Quietly]
How close to the Linton house do we think we are? |
| Leanna | Very close, 30 or
40 yards I reckon.
Dreylin, I have to say my memory may be playing tricks on me, but Captain
Harlon seemed as suspicious as we were of our sewer guys. I'm not necessarily
advocating killing them (all), hopefully we can intimidate them into coming to
have a chat with Harlon later, if not, we'll have to see. |
| Dreylin | Well the
Captain did detail some of his men to explore the cellars / sewers and round
up anyone they found, so I'd assume that if they're still here they're likely
to be genuine workers. |
| Leanna | [Shrugs]
OK, but I just find it incredibly suspicious that they've been found a second
time in exactly the place we'd be looking at. Is this tunnel even a sewer, or
looking like it's going to be? Do four guys with picks constitute an official
Darokin Sewer working party? I'd have thought it would involve some more
people than that, with people carrying out the quarried rocks and so forth.
[Sheathes her sword, but doesn't wrap it up again] So let's be ready
for trouble then, but don't approach in intimidatory fashion? If that's the
way you want to play it?
The difference this time is that we can now actually say that we are working
for the watch, and that we want to know exactly what they're doing here. Which
if they are nefarious might be enough to tip their hand. |
| Narond | I agree, I am
suspicious about them again being in the place we are expecting something to
be happening. We should be ready for trouble, but perhaps treat them initially
as if they have done nothing wrong. But we are working for the watch and hence
we can quiz them properly in the execution of our task.
[Wonders if a bad guard, good guard routine would work on
them] |
| Dreylin | [Wonders if
the Overly Suspicious Adventurers, Sensible (if Short) Adventurer routine is
currently working...]
If you really think that 'nefarious sorts' are likely to still be hanging
around down here after the trouble yesterday, then you're more optimistic than
I am... [Indicates for Leanna to lead the way] |
| Narond | Well, none of
those rumours we heard from Harry actually mentioned the sewers, or tunnels,
just the death of Poppy. |
| Dreylin | And I'm sure
that neither did the guards that Harlon detailed to sweep the tunnel system
yesterday, either... |
| Leanna | Given that the
guards swept the tunnel system and didn't find any entirely innocent sewer
workers, why do you think they would have left?
And what's more, nobody would have any particular reason to conjecture about
the tunnels if they didn't know of them already - the rumours are about the
murder and whodunnit, not so much the how it happened - and Harlon would have
every reason not to publicise the tunnels, so as not to cause panic
about armed men popping up in people's cellars.
[Mutters something about her actually being pessimistic under her breath,
and then leads the way, clearing her throat as she gets to within earshot of
the workers]
Well what a surprise to see you gentlemen again this lovely morning. I see
the sewerage is moving on apace? |
| DM | They all turn round to
you. The lead man puts down his shovel. |
| Man | You again. Well this
is unexpected. |
| DM | Seemingly with no
signal, the other three drop their tools and draw a variety of weapons. The
leader himself throws a knife from his sleeve at Leanna. Fortunately for her,
it narrowly misses her face and clatters into the far wall. He also draws a
short sword from within his jacket. |
| Dreylin | [Stands
corrected... with his axe ready to kneecap the nearest enemy] |
| Leanna | [Grins
very broadly] Told you so!
[Draws her sword and charges the leader] |
| Berillia | [Readies
herself to bring down anyone escaping with a stone] |
| DM | Taking the initiative,
the first 'workman' rushes at Leanna. She casually leans out of the way and
skewers him badly as he comes past. He turns back to her, bleeding badly from
his side.
The 'workman' wielding a large and unfriendly looking axe takes a hefty swing
at Shianara who easily parries the blow with his sword.
Berillia notices the other 'workman' with a sword trying to escape and moves
to intercept him. She lobs a stone in his direction and catches him in the
face causing a nasty cut to his cheek. He seems upset by this and rushes at
the cleric screaming with rage. She doesn't duck fast enough and is stabbed
through her right shoulder.
Dreylin takes a massive swing at the last 'workman' while the man himself
swings an evil looking cudgel. Sadly the height difference is insurmountable
and both miss comfortably.
Narond picks up the recently thrown dagger and hurls it at the nearest enemy,
missing him completely.
Habib guards the retreat! |
| Berillia | [Attempts
to find her hammer whilst trying to avoid being hit again, and spews forth
some truly vile curses] |
| Leanna | [Attempts to
skewer her opponent badly again, possibly on the other side this
time] |
| DM | The lead sword wielder
continues his fight with Leanna. They trade blows but fail to make an
impression on one another.
The man with the cudgel strikes downwards at Dreylin. The hin avoids the
heavy blow and strikes hard with his axe, rather messily removing the man's
head.
The second swordsman swings at Berillia and she deflects his blow. Taking the
opportunity, Habib steps round her and runs him through. The swordsman drops
to the ground.
The axe wielding loony (on their side - not yours) rushes at Shianara. He
manages to gash the elf with one blade before Shianara lithely stabs him in
the chest with his own sword. He staggers back but doesn't look well.
Narond raises his hands. There is a purple flash!
Everything goes black.
Black as in unconsciousness.
Leanna and Narond wake you up. The two remaining assailants are asleep and
tied up on the floor. |
| Berillia | Watch where
you're throwing that stuff, Narond... [Smiles] |
| Narond | Sorry about that,
I perhaps should have warned you, but I definitely wanted to get at least one
of these guys alive. Anyway I found the following pieces of paper on them...
|
| DM | Narond shows two pieces
of paper. One looks like the letter you saw giving permission to work. The
other shows a map of the sewers, with a tunnel marked on going to a room 30
yards north of here.
The tunnel is marked as 'prospective'. It would head off from this location.
|
| Narond | Time for a bit of
questioning. |
| Dreylin | [Gets to his
feet and dusts himself off] Hmmm, I think you need to work on your aim
there a bit Narond.... |
| Narond | [Continues to
look a little sheepish] I'll try to remind you to close your eyes next
time. |
| Berillia | [Applies
her staff to her wounded side to make it less wounded, then does the same for
Shianara]
Let's wake the leader. |
| DM | You slap around the
leader for a bit.
He wakes and looks around.
Fixing his eyes to the front he remains silent. |
| Leanna | Well, I must make
a complaint to the council about their sewer workers, that's hardly the kind
of friendly service I would expect for the fees you pay here!
[Smiles rather bleakly at him]
Care to tell us what you're doing, before I set Habib over there on you. He's
pretty quiet, but he's learnt a few interrogation techniques I really prefer
not to watch. I'm sure that the Watch won't mind one of their suspects
being... er... tampered with, as long as there's another still able to talk.
[Points out the largest member of the party to him and then turns back,
trying to look as if she is slightly concerned for his future
health] |
| Man | [Sniggers
slightly] You really haven't done this before have you? |
| Dreylin | [Steps
forward from the back of the group wiping the beheaded chap's blood off his
axe]
Well, whatever she lacks in experience, she certainly makes up for in
zeal.... |
| Berillia | [Not in the
best of moods] I say he loses a finger. |
| DM | He looks up at Dreylin
and further up at Berillia. He seems to deliberate for a moment then sags a
bit. |
| Man | All right, I'll
talk. Just keep me away from the psycho midget. |
| Dreylin | [Finishes
wiping his axe and deliberately hangs it from his belt] You really think
that's a wise thing to be calling me? |
| Leanna | [Grins] So
for starters, like I said, what exactly are you doing down here? And I should
point out, Hin don't take kindly to being called midgets, I'd try to keep
myself in his good books if I were you. |
| Man | We're just digging
tunnels for some guys. They pay, we dig. We told them you'd come yesterday and
they said this morning that we were to kill you if we saw you again. |
| Leanna | It's nice to be
appreciated, I suppose. So, these guys... who are they, what do they look
like, where are the tunnels going, you get the picture? |
| Man | I don't know. They
wear hoods you see. It was just employment. I'm not sure where the tunnels go,
we just dig them according to the maps. |
| Leanna | How many of them
were there then? And how much were they paying you? |
| Man | I don't know in
total. I only saw two at a time but there may be more. We were getting 40
daros a day. |
| Berillia | Where did you
meet them? Show us on your map. |
| Man | It's not on the map.
It's the deserted wine shop on Vintner's Lane. |
| Berillia | And when are
you next due to meet them? |
| Man | Tonight. Just before
midnight. |
| Leanna | Good call, Beri.
[To the leader] Is this the last tunnel you were digging, or are you
expecting them to give you more work? |
| Man | To the best of my
knowledge this and the one we were working on yesterday are the last ones. But
I know there are other groups working down here. I've heard them moving
around. |
| Leanna | Interesting...
can you show us whereabouts you've heard them on the map? |
| DM | He points to the general
Kobold area. |
| Leanna | Oh well.
|
| Berillia | [Considers
the possibility of taking their work clothes so we can go to the meeting and
look like them] |
| Leanna | I suspect it's
unlikely that you and I'll pass for them, Beri - but we could always hide out
in the shop beforehand, and try to block their escape while the others pretend
to be the tunnellers. |
| DM | It might be a long shot.
|
| Leanna | [To the rest of
the group] Well, this ties in with the kobolds' story at least. Is there
anything else we need to know now, or shall we just escort them back to
Captain Harlon? |
| Berillia | Wait... one
more thing. The tunnel you were digging yesterday - where does it go?
|
| Man | I think it was
planned to be a new exit. Underneath an inn I think, but I don't know which
one. |
| Leanna | Did you finish
that one yesterday? |
| Man | No way. We made a
break for it after you showed up. |
| Leanna | Right.
[To the others] So the landlord may or may not have been telling the
truth. |
| Berillia | Let's go and
find the Captain... |
| DM | You head out of the
tunnels taking your two captives with you. As you pass through the streets you
notice that the mood seems even worse than before. There are gangs of people
huddled together and you even notice one or two unwrapped weapons. |
| Berillia | [In a low
voice] I think that after we've dropped these two off we might want to get
over to the wine merchant before he either leaves town or gets attacked by
random thugs... |
| Leanna | Sounds sensible.
|
| Berillia | [Begins
watching the prisoners very carefully, given the potential for chaos
here] |
| Leanna | We could walk in
a ring with them in the middle, so there's the least potential for them
slipping into a crowd. |
| DM | You head through the
crowds back to the Silver Stag.
Harry seems to have a few big lads on standby at the door but they let you in
when he gives you the nod. |
| Harry | [Looks
serious] Who've you got there, friends? |
| Narond | Some people we
need to introduce to Harlon. |
| Leanna | Is it OK if we
take them up to our room, or do you have a back room or something where we
can, um, store them for a while? I think the Captain will be here fairly soon,
by the way. |
| Harry | We'll keep them in
the back until he gets here. |
| Leanna | Thanks a lot -
would you like us to stand guard, or can you spare a bouncer? The crowds are
looking rather nasty, aren't they? Surely Darokin can't always be like this
after a murder? |
| Harry | We'll keep an eye
on them. As for the crowds. I don't know. The problems between the Houses have
been brewing for months. Normally even an incident like this would be treated
reasonably but something seems to be stirring up trouble rather than calming
it down. I don't like it. I don't like it at all. |
| Berillia | [Quietly,
to the group] The thought occurs, perhaps triggering all this unrest may
have been the motive for the murder?
Since the Lintons don't look nearly as suspicious without a hole in their
cellar, maybe we'd do with wondering what people with possible Karameikan
connections could be getting out of putting the Houses against each other? Not
to mention the public at large... |
| Leanna | Crikey - that's a
proper conspiracy theory - you're suggesting that a foreign power is fomenting
discord in Darokin? [Whistles under her breath and wonders how likely that
is] |
| Berillia | Well, not
necessarily a ruler. Could just as easily be your typical evil but charismatic
leader who happens to like the scenery in Karameikos...
[Smiles] |
| Leanna | [Nods, and
moves toward the door]
Well, it certainly bears thinking about, doesn't it? I guess we'd better pass
on that idea to Harlon; and perhaps he may know more about why the crowds are
behaving how they are... I mean, maybe by now they will have had to make some
arrests if any trouble has kicked off, and that may yield some information.
|
| DM | You head back through
the streets of Darokin. The mood seems even worse although you don't
understand where the trouble seems to be coming from.
Eventually you make your way to Vintner's Lane. It is a copper class area but
you can see some nice shops tucked among the less impressive ones.
At one end of the lane lies a deserted shop. The windows are shuttered and
the door is closed. Further up you can see Aristo's. The doors are open and he
seems to be in. |
| Leanna | OK guys, given
the mood here, I wonder if it might be better for one or two of us to approach
him initially and then introduce the rest of the group, rather than fill his
doorway with 6 armed adventurers - he might just assume we're here to loot
him.
Now what are we asking about - was it just the Trouscan estate, or was there
more? |
| Narond | I think it was
mainly regarding the bottle of wine we found, and whether anyone in particular
had bought some, since we found it at the scene. |
| DM | Narond, Berillia and
Leanna head into the shop.
Aristo is a fat and rather sweaty man of about 60. The shop smells oddly sour
and sweet at the same time.
He smiles as you come in. |
| Aristo | Ah, guests.
|
| DM | His chins wobble
disturbingly. |
| Aristo | Here to purchase,
my friends? |
| Leanna | Well, we are
interested in anything you may have from the Trouscan estate, and perhaps some
information about the estate itself.
[Pauses] We actually have three friends outside who would also be
interested - we didn't want to scare you with the current atmosphere, turning
up mob-handed at your door - would you mind if they joined us for this
conversation?
[Smiles her sweetest smile] |
| Aristo | Of course, bring
them in. |
| DM | The rest of you enter.
|
| Aristo | Indeed a regular
mob. |
| DM | He doesn't look overly
bothered by this... but then he's a big man. |
| Aristo | Trouscan wine.
Well, yes, I'm pretty much the only dealer in Darokin. Buy it direct from the
estates. So how much are you looking to purchase? |
| Leanna | [Smiles
again]
Well, for our own consumption not that much. My friend here [Indicates
Narond] is a merchant himself, so he may be interested in a greater
quantity. But we're not just here for wine, we are here for some information
as well, if you wouldn't mind - I assure you that we will buy at least
something in recognition of your time.
[Pauses to see his reaction, and indeed for Narond to indicate whether or
not he might be interested in a crate or two] |
| Narond | Indeed I might
consider buying an amount. Though obviously I would first need to buy a bottle
and sample some of the wine itself, which I would be willing to do. |
| Aristo | Hmm. Well that's
fair, that's fair. I'll find a bottle for you. As for information. Well this
is Darokin, everything has a price. What specifically do you want to know?
|
| Berillia | Where the
estate that produces it is, who owns it, and how established their export
arrangements are, wasn't it Narond? |
| Aristo | [Looks rather
serious] That's expensive information. If, for example, you wanted to
start importing the Trouscan wines yourself, you'd need exactly those sort of
facts. I'll have you know that I am the only licensed importer from the
estates and if you want to sell elsewhere in Darokin you'll have to come
through me. I also have a limited number of customers in Darokin itself who
buy the wine for consumption so you won't be able to take their business
either. |
| Berillia | Well, given
we're only a small concern at the most, I believe we were more considering
either doing some of the leg-work for people such as yourself, or introducing
the product to fresh markets elsewhere.
[To Narond, quietly] Correct me if I'm wrong here... |
| Leanna | Look, the truth
of the matter is this. We have been commissioned by the Watch (Captain Harlon
is our contact) to aid them in an investigation, and it so happens that the
Trouscan estate has cropped up in the case. It may or may not be a strong
lead, we shall see, but if you could give us any information, particularly
about who owns the estate, and whether you have any particular regular
customers in the city, it would be very useful.
I am sure that none of us would have any problem signing a disclaimer to the
effect that we will not use any commercial information you divulge to us, at
least within the Darokin city limits. Would that set you at your ease?
And we're not kidding, Narond may want to buy a quantity from you if the
price and quality is right. Even if he decides not to, we'll buy a few bottles
between us for our personal use. [Winks] |
| Aristo | Investigators. I
see. Well Harlon's known for getting things done. The estates are in
Karameikos but are owned by House Mauntea. They ship in via me. You'll forgive
me if I don't give you the name of the shipping company or my contact in
Karameikos. I'd be happy to give those names to the good Captain himself. As
for buyers in Darokin, let us consult the register. |
| DM | He reaches under the
table and pulls out a large book. Flicking through the pages he comes to a set
of scrawled notes. |
| Aristo | Let's see,
Trouscan wine...
Heranthes, a cobbler apparently, not bought any for a while though.
Christos, owner of the Rattlebone, he's a good customer, due for another
shipment by the look of it.
Akarios, the shipwright. bought some only last week.
Theodric Angulsta. Thyatian merchant I think. Haven't seen him for a
while.
Seraphim, the minstrel. Has rather too much I fear.
Those are the only buyers in the register. There may be one or two others but
these are my main purchasers. Does that help? |
| Leanna | Yes, there's two
or three bits of information in there that I think very much might.
[Gives no indication of what they might be at the moment]
Does anyone else have any questions? |
| Narond | Not at the
moment. If we can obtain a bottle of wine now, then we can be off to meet with
Captain Harlon. |
| Berillia | [Attempts
to look apologetic to the chap at leading him down the garden path a bit, but
doesn't say anything more] |
| Aristo | Certainly. A
bottle of the Trouscan is 10 daros, which I'm sure you can afford. [Waits
expectantly] |
| Leanna | [Proffers some
cash]
[Outside] So, the Rattlebone comes up in conversation again, along with
Karameikos. And House Mauntea could be stirring trouble with the others.
|
| Narond | Very interesting
indeed. |
| Leanna | So House Mauntea,
they basically founded Darokin, and the Chancellor of Darokin is the head of
Mauntea. He apparently doesn't get on with Bertram Hallonica. Oh, and their
crest is an anchor and star.
Previously we had heard that the only organisation with links to Karameikos
was the Darokin Diplomatic Corps, so now we can add Mauntea to that list.
The Rattlebone owner we now know is called Christos. Unfortunately I can't
seem to remember much of our conversation with him... I think he'd run out of
Trouscan wine and suggested Aristo to us originally, though, so that ties in
and is no more (or less) suspicious than before. |
| Narond | Yes, I don't
think we discussed much other than that. If you remember we went in there
thinking it was the place marked on the map regarding one of those sewer
holes, but we later found it was the public conveniences. So we asked about
his cellar, which he claimed was fine. |
| Leanna | Although,

hadn't finished it. |
| Narond | [Looks at the
map] But that doesn't tie up with the Rattlebone. |

| DM | There could be a few

want.

| Leanna | So that may put

| Narond | Lead the way...
|
| Leanna | [Smiles]
