This being the required boring bit that turns up on most homepages sooner or later... my name's Tom York, I'm a postgrad at Durham doing a PhD in applied historical astronomy (What?), and that's me there looking startled. :)

I like tea (lots of it), obscure beer (anything with "old" in the name is a good bet), Radio 4 comedy, Chinese food, strategy games, books with complicated plots, and most of the things I've got links to in here (obviously)... I don't like cider, coffee, and probably some other things I can't think of right now. I also use the ellipsis too much when typing, but doesn't everybody?
